Road to Vancouver

One Year to Go

To mark the one-year countdown to the world’s biggest football event arriving in Vancouver, we welcomed youth to Terry Fox Plaza for an unforgettable celebration. The day featured a high-energy mini-pitch match in front of cheering spectators, with appearances by football legends Christine Sinclair, Tosaint Ricketts, and Bob Lenarduzzi, alongside pro players from Vancouver FC and Vancouver Rise FC.

These young players brought their passion and gave it their all! To mark the occasion, Mayor Ken Sim proclaimed June 13 as "Soccer Day" in Vancouver and the official Countdown Clock was unveiled, now ticking down the days until kick-off.
