About volunteering

The FIFA World Cup 26™ Volunteer Program unites passionate individuals from all backgrounds to help welcome the world to Canada and its Host Cities, Vancouver and Toronto.

Volunteer roles will include support at BC Place Vancouver, along key stadium routes or in the heart of the action at the FIFA Fan Festival™. As a local ambassador you will help fans feel at home, share Vancouver’s rich diversity and culture, and create unforgettable experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions

You must be 18 years old by the time your role begins.

No. Everyone is welcome to apply - whether it’s your first time volunteering or you are a seasoned volunteer.

English is required for most roles. Speaking more than one language is an asset as we prepare to welcome the world.

You must sign-up as a member of the FIFA Volunteer Community first and keep your account up to date to receive updates on the application process.  When the application opens, sign up through the FIFA Volunteer Platform and complete the application form.

Yes. You can only apply to one Host City, and you’ll choose it when you apply. Be sure to pick the city where you plan to stay during the tournament.

You can share your preferences in your application, but final assignments will depend on your experience, role, availability, and event needs.

After you apply and complete the online assessment, your application will be reviewed. You may be invited to an interview and asked to complete a background check.

You’ll receive updates by email or through the volunteer platform. This may take a few weeks or months depending on your Host City. You can keep track of your application progress by logging into your Volunteer account.

No. Everyone is welcome to apply. Roles are assigned based on your availability, your profile, and the needs of the event, not your background or where you live.

3.     If selected, you may be invited to an interview.

4.     Participate in a background check.

5.     If successful, you’ll be assigned a role and receive training before your shifts.

No, but you must commit to a minimum of nine shifts. You can share which days and times you're available when you apply.

You must attend training before your first shift. This may include online and in-person sessions, depending on your role.

No. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. You will not receive a salary or wage.

No. You are responsible for arranging your own accommodation, travel, and visa (if needed).

You’ll be part of a global team, make new connections, and gain valuable experience. You’ll receive official training, a FIFA Volunteer uniform, a volunteer certificate, meals during your shifts, and be part of a once-in-a-lifetime event.
