With 185 days to go, most teams playing in Vancouver confirmed and the match schedule released, Vancouver is advancing preparations to welcome the world for FIFA World Cup 2026™. As one of 16 Host Cities, the Host Committee team is working hard to deliver seven unforgettable matches at BC Place Vancouver while ensuring everyone experiences the very best of Vancouver and BC.

In collaboration with partners, Vancouver’s Host Committee is overlaying the Final Draw information on plans to date, making adjustments as needed and continuing to advance key priorities to ensure full readiness for the world's biggest sporting event. Knowing which teams will play in Vancouver is key information to support planning inputs to ensure delivery of the best possible experience for teams, fans, visitors and locals alike.

Below are some progress highlights as the countdown continues.

  • Killarney Park Training Site: One of two required training venues, the Killarney Park training site is ahead of schedule and 95% complete. It includes a temporary team building with locker rooms, as well as a temporary tournament-time high-performance pitch engineered for strength, density and safety. Many of the site upgrades are lasting community legacies that will support future recreation and community events. Learn more at www.vancouverfwc26.ca/community-hub/training-sites
  • FIFA Fan Festival™: Construction of the renewed PNE Amphitheatre at the heart of the Festival is progressing on schedule. The impressive venue is a major investment in Vancouver’s cultural infrastructure, creating a world-class venue for music, festivals, arts and community events. Programming will be designed to ensure Vancouver’s FIFA Fan Festival™ is a place for fans to watch and celebrate between matches. Coordination with FIFA and the PNE is ongoing, with announcements coming in early 2026.
  • Host City Dressing Program: The dressing program, or official tournament look, will bring the vibrant tournament atmosphere to Vancouver’s streets, bridges, transit stations, and public spaces, creating a consistent visual identity.  Design work is underway, with select installations starting in Q1 2026.
